Day 1 UK – Calgary Your Canada holiday starts with a departure from Heathrow on an Air Canada flight to Calgary. On arrival a private transfer is provided to your centrally situated hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure. Overnights(2): Calgary Day 2 Calgary Widely regarded as the “gateway to the Rockies”, and home to the famous Stampede, Calgary is a stylish and friendly city. Your morning is at leisure to start to explore this city of contrasts or for some shopping. Visit TD Square, the Eaton Centre or Hudson’s Bay shopping areas, all of which are linked by Calgary’s Plus 15 walkway system. In the afternoon why not take a guided sightseeing tour of the highlights of Calgary – Scotsman Hill, Fort Calgary (the original base of the North West Mounted Police), Stampede Park, the Saddledome and Ski Jump Tower at Olympic Park?
Day 3 Calgary – Banff This morning depart the Stampede city and head west by coach through the rolling foothills into the National Park and the pretty town of Banff Overnights(4): Banff
Days 4–6 Banff Situated on the doorstep of spectacular scenery, Banff nestles amidst the glory of the Canadian Rockies and boasts an attractive main street with numerous cafes and craft shops. Visit the historic hot springs on the included sightseeing tour and stroll along the shore of Lake Minnewanka before ascending Sulphur Mountain on the gondola (payable locally).
Day 7 The Icefields Parkway – Jasper Today enjoy a sightseeing tour along the beautiful Icefields Parkway to Jasper. The drive features superb alpine scenery. Seemingly at every turn a new vista awaits with emerald lakes, waterfalls and swiftly flowing mountain streams. You will visit the extensive Columbia Icefield, the largest formation of ice and snow in the Canadian Rockies and take the included Ice Explorer ride onto the Athabasca Glacier to walk on this imperceptibly moving river of ice. Day 8-9 Jasper A showcase of pearly blue lakes, long ridge-top hikes, canyons and a world-class golf resort, the town of Jasper is considered a throwback to a gentler time. It's a casual reminder of the splendid grace of steamer trunks and luxurious long distance rail travel, of swarthy explorers, of intrepid Swiss mountain guides and tough talkin' miners. Today Jasper is a sleepy sanctuary, known as a refuge for bighorn sheep, elk, deer and moose - all of which have been spotted wandering its streets. A trip to the exquisite Maligne Lake, the second largest glacier-fed lake in the Rockies, is well recommended where a cruise will take you past glacier-studded mountain peaks to world-famous Spirit Island. An included excursion is available to Pyramid and Patricia Lakes as well as Maligne Canyon with its sheer limestone walls and narrow gorge.
Day 10 Jasper – Kamloops Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. As you journey west and south you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3954 metres (12,972 ft) and the journey along the Thompson River as you approach your overnight destination. Breakfast & Lunch Included. Overnight(1): Kamloops Day 11 Kamloops – Vancouver Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. on today’s journey you will again see dramatic changes of scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river canyons and forests surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains to the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Days 12-13 Vancouver Renowned as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver is home to spectacular natural scenery with breathtaking views in each, and every direction, has a bustling metropolitan core and boasts one of the mildest climates in Canada. Explore the city on the included sightseeing tour visiting Stanley Park, Gastown, and Chinatown. Spend time on Granville Island with its craft workshops and superb restaurants and for a stunning vista of Vancouver and its harbour, take the gondola up Grouse Mountain.
Days 14-15 Victoria Enjoy a ferry-cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands to the capital of British Columbia, majestic Victoria. The city is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and is world-renowned for its charming ambience. Sometimes referred to as the “garden city” Victoria has a bustling harbour, heritage buildings and offers numerous whale-watching cruises. Visit the beautiful Butchart Gardens and explore the harbour area by horse drawn carriage or stroll amongst the narrow streets and market. Overnights(2): Victoria
Day 16 Victoria – UK A leisurely day, allowing time for last minute sightseeing or shopping before you transfer by airporter to Victoria airport and your flight home.
